Great NBA Game!! July 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The new features EA added are terrific. Total freestyle control makes players more realistic in 2 ways.
One, for instance a player like McGrady is not just a scorer, but a good dunker as well and that's where changing FSS types on the fly comes in handy.
Second, two players for example are Rashard Lewis and ray Allen. In NBA Live 06, they had the same exact shooting ability, but Allen is way better. In NBA Live 07 Lewis is only a star and Allen, being the great shooter that he is, he is a superstar level player. That is why the 2 tiers of FSS makes the game more realistic. Star players are better than ordinary players in the game, but superstar players are the top of the line players.
In 07 you can feel the intensity of the game. The crowd is more into the game and they say "defense" when it's the road team's ball.
I like the separation of the dunk and lay-up buttons since you can decide for yourself whether you want to play it safe and go for the lay-up or take the risk for a dunk.
Another addition is the x-factor. Think Robert Horry. He is just a role player yet he has made many clutch shots. In live 07, for each game a player from each team is identified as the x-factor. If you get him involved then get can turn into a star level FSS, for a short time. You should get him in the game and get him involved. If he does that, then he would get unlocked. If you want to save the ability until later during the game then you should keep him involved. If you want to activate his FSS ability, then hold l1 and press r3 and it will become activated. You should use it wisely since it only lasts a short time.
All the new features that ea added has made the game an improvement over live 06. This is another great game by ea sports.
Simply Awful April 29, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Just a porous effort on every level. Not much has changed from the 2006 version except that the game play is evermore lop-sided and ridiculous. Interface options are convoluted, the website for patches is a joke and the actions on the court seemed to have been programmed, animated and mo-capped by Stevie Wonder.
Glad I received it as a gift and I didn't spend the cake on this junk. I know EA lost its way a long time ago (they actually DID make great games about 10 years ago) and is simply in it for the bottom line at this point. My ban on buying EA products continues and we (the wise consumers) will be left standing when the last EA studio closes.
BUGS, BUGS, BUGS February 23, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased the download version of this game and I when I play season mode, franchise mode, or playoff mode, after the game is over I cannot get to the screen to save the game. It is ridiculous!!!! I checked for a patch but the game is still doing the same thing. Do not buy this game!!!!! The game play was good, I enjoyed it but I cant enjoy it if I cannot save my progress.
Similar yet Still tons of Fun August 28, 2007 Just like the Madden series not too much different but the players and a few game option tweaks but still a great two player game. I like the EA Sports they seem to be able to get them to work on Vista unlike the battlefield series that I'm still stuggling to get to work on Vista. At The Price this is still a great game. Most people only know a few players in the league so player draft aquisitions and team changes will affect only the die hardest of fans.
Fun Game July 18, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
NBA Live 2007 is a fun game for the average NBA fan. The controls are fairly easy to learn after playing for a while. It's not great, but a good buy.
