Product Description Dual Heat Settings - 750 and 1500 Watts / Adjustable Thermostat / AntiFreeze Setting / Fan-Only Setting / Cool Handle
Amazon.com Review No more worrying about overheating or starting a fire, a ceramic thermal cut-off mechanism shuts the heater down if it's accidentally tipped over or covered with curtains, blankets etc. A dual heat-flow setting makes it easy to regulate. Choose the "hi" setting for 1500 watts or the "lo" setting for 750 watts. And, an adjustable thermostat helps fine-tune temperatures and conserve energy. When winter is over, the fan operates without heat for summer cooling. A built-in handle and wide solid base ensures optimal stability and convenient portability. And, this quiet operator is perfect for any room in the house. An anti-freeze setting automatically turns on the heater when the temperature reaches 44 degrees Fahrenheit. --Brian Olson

Excellent heater, until it turns itself off November 30, 2008 The heater does its job well. We've been transferring it from room to room, and it is complementary to our central heating.
Unfortunately, it has a tendency to shut itself off, especially when used in small spaces (like the bathroom or the kitchen). We assume it's some sort of protection from overheating mechanism, but it's still quite annoying, and limits our use to large rooms.
wonderful little heater November 25, 2008 This little heater was everything I was looking for. It travels with me in my house (we have oil heat and we are avoiding turning it on) and it heats up almost every place. Its a little loud for the bedroom at night, but it usually shuts off within 20 minutes or so after its reached its desired temperature. I think its a pretty good product for only $20.
mixed experience November 24, 2008 I bought this header a couple years ago and use it constantly as a fan in summer and heater in the winter. Overall I like it -- works well, not very noisy, stable design. Recently, it started failing to shut off when I turn it off. I have to unplug it, which isn't that difficult, but now I'm leery of the failsafe, which is one of the features I was interested in since I have a cat and the heater could possibly be tipped over. Still using it though, I just took it to work where my cat does not go.
Saved my life November 19, 2008 This heater works GREAT....and its cheap works perfectly fine, been using it for a year and it def. save my life. good for dorm room, bedroom
So far it's exactly what I wanted November 19, 2008 Bought this based strictly on Amazon reviews, which BTW I think is a great way to buy.
I've had it a week and it works great.
I have a 10x12 room with my computer and a small TV where I have my morning coffee so for the first 3-4 hours of the day I'm only heating this room. It's 28 outside today, the rest of my house is 60, and my room is a comfortable 70 with this unit on low heat (2 speed high 1500/low 750) and the thermostat set between 2 and 3 (offers 1-6).
Some have remarked that the controls are a little difficult. I used a fine tip black magic marker and highlighted the numbers and that was a good fix. You'll get a feel for the controls in a day or so anyway and now that it's set I just plug it in every morning. The cord and housing have been cool to the touch, heats well, thermostat cycles with no problem. For $20 it's a good value.
