| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The Orbee-tuff compound is really tough with an interesting "feel" that is difficult to describe. Orbee toys are made of an injection molded "thermo plastic elastimer". The molding process makes them hollow with holes at the ends and gives them a 1/2 inch thick membrane-like surface. This process creates an incredibly durable and safe material that stands up to sharp teeth and rough play. It's flexible, durable, grippy, bouncy and buoyant, has a peppermint scent and rinses clean. Being hollow, Orbee toys can be stuffed with treats, peanut butter or whatever your dog has a love for. To add an additional option to the mix, all of these toys can be safely chilled or frozen for a cool treat on a hot day! Orbee toys are also non-toxic & recyclable, which makes them great for the environment too! This is our "ball dog's" favorite ball. Tilli loves to chew on her Orbee, it must feel really good on her teeth and gums. We swear she's addicted to this ball. These are standard Orbee-Tuff balls with raised rubber on the exterior to make it look like a globe. The actual surface of ball is textured and super tough. The colored portions are separate pieces of rubber, so there is a chance that they could be ripped or worn off after time.

Wonderful diversion October 30, 2008 Our Golden loves his ball -- plays with it all day and takes it to bed with him at night. We've had several, because after months of abuse they finally start to deteriorate, but they hold up remarkably well.
Ball failed to hold up to "Destructo" October 16, 2008 I have a 18 month old Weimaraner who has a Masters Degree in general destruction with a Minor in Toy Dismantlement. Few and far between is a toy that lasts more than a week (tennis balls, basketballs, rope toys, sticks, tree limbs, logs and various and sundry household items).
Cynder (Destructo) was not at all intimidated with the new challenge. Upon being presented with a new toy she immediately examines it for weaknesses. It took her all of 5 minutes to begin her assault on the continents, and 5 minutes later they began to peel.
On the up side, she stopped chewing about 20 minutes later and the ball is relatively unscathed. I am a little disappointed that there was so much peeling, but tiring out her jaws is worth it.
I would have rated it higher, but with the peeling you have to be on guard that there is no eating, so I have not yet found that ever-elusive "perfect" toy.
Border collie rates it paws up October 11, 2008 Positive: My border collie loves chasing the ball and he seems to like the rubber as he "mouths" it when he catches it. I like it because I can wipe off the soft plastic so it's not slobbery. It has a great bounce and is similar in weight to a tennis ball which is light enough for throwing in the house.
Negative: For the cost of one orbee, I could buy quite a few tennis balls. The first orbee disappeared and the second one was missing for awhile. But he found it several weeks ago so I keep close tabs on it. He is a chewer, stuffed toys last seconds, not minutes before the stuffing is all over the floor. He has chewed the "countries" off, but it's still intact.
I would buy it again.
One "Tuff" Ball September 25, 2008 I have an American Pit Bull Terrier that is extremely hard to buy toys for. Everything that I bought was shredded and in some cases eaten, even toys that were rated for extreme chewers. After much trial and error I lucked into Planet Dog. Planet Dog balls are indestructible and my APBT loves them!! After months of play they are still like new - they don't show any wear and tear like with other toys (Nylabone, Tire-biters, etc.). If your dog likes to play ball and is an extreme chewer try Planet Dog, you will not be disappointed.
Hard to find ball September 21, 2008 I have been looking in all the stores for this ball. Highly recommended as all Planet dog Orbee toys are. I found it here at Amazon and was delighted. The only problem with the ball is my 8 month old puppy BT can't pick it up. I think maybe his missing teeth could be the problem. He can catch and retrieve all his other balls. I am hoping this will improve when his teeth come in. He tries and gives up after a few seconds.
