No Help December 2, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
We purchased 2 of the plug-ins to see if our cats would stop using the floors and start using their litter boxes. The rooms we put these plug-ins are within the coverage suggested by the manufacture. The plug-ins didn't solve our problem, the cats still use the floor at times to relieve themselves and this was just 1 foot from the plug-in.
Nice product December 1, 2008 This seemed to comfort my new cat while I was trying to introduce him to my old cat, but it can't really help them much since they just don't like each other's attitudes. I am planning to buy the refills for another couple months to help them calm down again.
Expensive product with no clear benefits... November 30, 2008 After reading a bunch of reviews I ordered this for my two housecats to ease the transition into a new home. I have had the Feliway diffuser plugged in for the last month and have not seen any change in the behavior or disposition in my cats. Vertical scratching and irrationally fearful behavior when new visitors arrive still persist. It has definitely not helped "comfort" the cats in the ways advertised. Of course I don't expect miracles but I expected to see some change. Now that 30 days have gone by I am reluctant to spend another $20 to refill the diffuser. Maybe a Glade plugin will work just as well!
Purring with Happiness! November 20, 2008 AMAZING! One week and we are seeing results!
My ten year old male cat was very restless, keeping me up all night. He would run around the bed, dig at the curtains, dig at the lampshade, meow and cry... he wanted attention, he wanted me to play, he wanted fed. If I got up to feed him (which is just letting him know that if he digs the curtain, Mom will get up) he would settle for a few hours, but always come back again. If I refused to get up, he would just keep at it. Closing him out of the room -- he would dig and cry at the door. All of this equaled NO SLEEP for me!
We have had Feliway for one week, and now we are sleeping through the night! He is very happy, he cuddles, he purrs, he sleeps with the dog, he plays happily by himself at night - it is amazing!
Now- someone at a pet store told me that Feliway only works if the CAUSE of their behavior is a negative thing... like fear or anxiety or a new home... This person said that my cat was keeping me up for a 'positive' reason, wanting attention and to interact with me.
Whatever -- how do we really know what the underlying cause is for their behavior!? Either way, I decided to try it and am delighted with the results!
Can't believe it works! November 16, 2008 I adopted a new cat. My old cat, Bellea, wasn't taking to her well after I went through the "proper steps" of introducing them (slowly, etc). Bellea started loosing her fur and just in general was moody (ie: suddenly didn't want to be held). I took her to the vet twice. 1st time she got a cortisone shot since he thought it could be allergies. 2nd time, she still wasn't getting better, he figured it must be the other cat. He said you could try Feliway, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I figured it was worth the shot (and since it's almost half the price of PetSmart it didn't seem like a bad deal).
It took about a month before I noticed a real difference, but now Bellea's fur is growing back and she purrs again. Her and Bali (the new cat) will chase each other around the house. I have a big happy family again :)
