Product Description The passages in this book have been designed to closely resemble official MCAT Verbal passages. From the type font to the subject matter to the number of words in each passage, question, and answer choice, these exas have the real MCAT feel. The questions in this book accurately duplicate the intended ambiguity that is the challenge of the actual MCAT. As is true of the official MCAT, you won't find the answers to these questions by hunting through the passages to find specific details. Instead, you'll need to understand the passeges in their entirety, just as you will on official MCAT day. The explanations in this book provide a comprehensive breakdown of correct, and incorrect answer choices. If you want lots of practice with tough, accurate MCAT exams to boost your Verbal Reasoning score on MCAT day, this book is for you.

MCAT 101 Passages EXAMKrackers Good Book! November 10, 2008 I did my homework before buying this book. The pre-med students on student doc forum, strongly suggested this book for english section of the MCAT'S. I have'nt taken it yet, but I notice my readin comp has improved! Vince
Great book...must have :) July 1, 2008 I have to admit that I am not a fan when it comes to the Examkracker series, however, this verbal book is an exception. I was able to raise my score from a 7 to 11 on the mcat over the course of 5 wks and that is pretty cool! Prep companies will teach you the whole thing with underlining and stuff but honestly, ont he actual test, you'll see that the only way to score above a 10 is to finish the entire test and that's what examkracker teaches you to do for this section. However, i have to say that the one thing i am disappointed by is the fact that this book does not have the variety that mcat has. For instance, the mcat verbal is broken down into 3 sections, history, social sciences, or literature. This book does not have enough literature which is actually one of the hardest sections to do. I would strongly recommend this book for studying cause it does amazing things :)
MCAT Study Materials June 5, 2008 This book was quite helpful in preparing for the MCAT. The passages are similar in length and difficulty. The questions help prepare one for what type of questions will be asked on the MCAT.
Examkracker verbal 101 passasges review April 12, 2008 Since the MCAT changed from an 8 hour exam to a 5 hour exam, this book has lost its relevance. It is not that helpful anymore because it does not reflect the AAMCAS structure or question type. It is far too difficult and irrelevant. They need to come up with a newer version where the verbal tests are 40 minutes each, the passages are shorter, and the questions at par with the real test.
next edition? March 27, 2008 does anyone know if the next edition will be out any time soon? Or should I just get this one (pub 2002) for my test in may?
Thanks
