Product Description "Beyond The Dragon is another 'Hail Mary' story. Robbie is an inspirational character that gives all kids with Aspergers as well as parents, coaches and teachers the hope that they can achieve their goals if they work hard and are surrounded by a supportive team. This story is also an important lesson for kids to accept and encourage all teammates no matter what their abilities are." - Doug Flutie, Co-Founder, The Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism, Inc. Nine-year-old Robbie Stanley would rather stay inside, playing on his computer and watching TV rather than go outside and interacting with the neighborhood kids-that is, until one afternoon when he happens across a soccer game while flipping through the TV channels. Immediately, Robbie is transfixed upon the dragon adorning the Greensboro players' uniforms. At that defining moment, he decides that he wants to play soccer. While this may be a rather routine task for any other child, Robbie, who has been diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome (AS),finds that playing soccer sets him on a course on which he has never embarked before. Although Robbie is excited about his new adventure, his mother is unsure how her son will react in situations to which he is not accustomed. Of more pressing concern, is how other children will act towards him. Experience the trials and tribulations of Robbie as he participates in organized sports for the first time.

| Customer Reviews:
Excellent Resource for the Classroom September 5, 2008 This book is an inspiring story of a young man named Robbie who is diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome (AS) and his sudden obsession with the game of soccer. Christopher Tremblay flawlessly describes what it is like for Robbie as he becomes part of a team for the first time. This story was a quick, easy read that would be perfect for the classroom setting. Tremblay shows the reader Robbie's perspective on things and enables the reader to relate to his literal thinking and understand his point of view. Tremblay eloquently sends the message that with a little compassion, understanding and the right supports put into place, children and young adults diagnosed with AS can succeed. This book stresses the importance of making an effort to include and support individuals with AS, which is an essential lesson every child should be taught.
