| Customer Reviews:
Loved it! October 30, 2008 My 2.5 yr. old's love Max and Ruby so I decided to purchase this book for the Halloween season. They absolutely loved it from the moment it came out of the box and demanded to read this over and over. I would have given it 5 stars had it been a boardbook, only because my kids are rough on the paperbacks and the pages are already creased and bent. Other than that the book was a major hit!
The Modern, "T.V. Version" of Max & Ruby October 13, 2008 Although I love Rosemary Wells' older, original Max & Ruby books, my children strongly prefer the more modern versions that are based on the T.V. series.
This book is no exception, and has been my five-year-old's bedtime choice for seven nights running, even though I originally bought it for her three-year-old cousin. It's appropriate for any age, but would probably be appreciated most by children two, three, or four years old.
It's a great length because it's long enough to be engaging and entertaining, but short enough to be bearable for tired adults.
The text and pictures are very true to the series...Max's only line is "Boo!", which he repeats after each of his feeble attempts to scare his big sister. He puts rubber spiders in Ruby's shoes, jumps from obvious hiding places, and plants toy worms to pop out at her. Of course, Ruby isn't frightened and gets the last (gentle) laugh by surprising Max.
It's cute Halloween fun for little Max & Ruby fans!
